MCCI is seeking a public/media relations pro with 3-8 years of experience to join our growing PR practice.

This public/media relations role requires a tenacious-yet-creative approach, the ability to toggle between various clients and deadlines, and core strengths in the PR arts – PR-focused writing/editing, client relations, strong media relationships and/or the demonstrated ability to build them, and a healthy dose of curiosity and problem-solving.
We’re seeking someone who is passionate about earned media strategies during a time of massive media landscape change, public relations best practices and delights in placing meaningful, transformative stories and articles for clients. Our agency has a growing list of B2B and B2C clients in a wide range of industries.
The ideal candidate has 3-8 years of previous experience with an agency or communications-oriented organization or department, and is ready to take their career to the next level working in an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment.
This team member will hit the ground running with managing accounts (typically may interface with five or more accounts at once), develop PR plans, write messaging or bylines, leverage media relationships and pitch media to land impactful stories. A strong work ethic and proven time management techniques are essential.
We’re looking for a go-getter who also demonstrates excellent client/team communication approaches and an outcomes-focused mindset. We want to hire a leader who is comfortable with changing priorities and demonstrates poise under pressure.
Preferred qualifications include: a demonstrated experience with media list creation, research and targeting, PR metrics reporting, social media management and crisis communications management; a college degree in a related field; and APR certification.
MCCI is an award-winning brand advocacy agency that brings leadership, expertise, creativity and integrity to every project. This position is intended as a hybrid one with three days in our modern downtown Detroit-based office and two days remote, with exact scheduling worked out with the selected candidate’s manager.
Our target range is $65K-$80K.
