In the face of ongoing threats of senseless violence against our schools, many districts have installed metal detectors and other security devices. They’ve hired security, partnered with local police and might keep certain entry doors locked. All of these are smart practices, but should we stop there?

We need to take advantage of every available resource, and “threat” sniffing dogs are an extra preventative measure that utilize senses that other devices don’t. We should be doing everything we can to keep our communities safe.
