I’ve been working in the video industry for a little over 15 years. I began as a production assistant, where I was running cables and helping with other various parts of production. Since then, I’ve worn just about every hat from producer and videographer to editor and designer. I’ve even owned and operated my own post-production company. I’m one of the lucky ones that can truly say I love what I do.
Running a production/post-production company is all encompassing. With any project, you start with an idea or concept and then move into script development, talent auditions and location scouting. A lot goes into creating a video before you even touch a camera. The entire production process including preparing, shooting and editing can take anywhere from a few days to a week or even a month, depending on the complexity of the project. I learned a lot about how to manage entire projects especially in order to make time for what I enjoy most, editing.
Editing and the idea of taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary excites me. My passions include creative editorial and design. I find inspiration everywhere. I’ve been fortunate to work on some wonderful projects and collaborate with some amazing people along the way. I’ve worked on corporate videos, music videos, several hundred commercial spots and much more. I can’t wait to see what the next 15 years has in store. Stay tuned!
